What if students could explore the world of manufacturing without ever leaving their school? That's the idea behind the Breakout Box, an immersive mobile STEM lab created by Learning Undefeated. Based in Maryland and Texas, the organization takes hands-on educational experiences directly to students. Inside an Expandable Touchdown, students experience interactive manufacturing challenges that encourage teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Inside the Breakout Box, students enter a learning environment that looks and feels nothing like a traditional classroom. Interactive screens, touchscreen tables, and software-controlled workstations create a simulated manufacturing experience. Working in two teams, students take on challenges involving inventory management, quality control, CNC programming, and machine operation.
The goal goes beyond understanding how manufacturing works. Through these activities, Learning Undefeated encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving while introducing students to the people and professions behind modern manufacturing.
To bring these experiences to different communities, Learning Undefeated operates nine Expandable units across multiple states. Each lab provides a dedicated learning environment that can travel between schools, allowing the team to reach students without requiring them to visit a permanent facility. For an educational program that is constantly on the move, practical details make a difference.
