Delivering our Expandable Movable Spaces requires more than solid engineering and technical coordination. It also requires clear and reliable documentation that explains how design decisions are made and how a space is constructed. For Expandable Movable Spaces, the Baubuch fulfils this role. It is the technical document that describes the design, construction and safety of our Expandable Trailers and Pods in a transparent and structured way.
The Baubuch supports inspections and approvals and demonstrates compliance with applicable rules and standards. It makes engineering choices traceable and understandable for authorities, inspectors and project partners. In many markets, approval is not possible without this documentation, which is why the Baubuch plays an important role in how Expandable spaces are developed and delivered.
Every detail documented
A Baubuch is far more than a list of parts. Every bolt, profile and panel is documented and supported by technical drawings, calculations and certifications. This level of detail ensures that nothing is left to interpretation.
Documentation is not treated as a separate task, but as an integral part of the design and build process. Because this dossier is essential for approval by inspection bodies such as TÜV or DEKRA, a structured way of working is built into the project from the very beginning. It helps create clarity throughout the project and supports consistent, technically sound decision-making.
Built as one coherent whole
Creating a Baubuch is a collaborative effort. Engineers contribute drawings and strength calculations, preparation teams add parts lists and technical documentation, and all of this information is brought together in one clear and traceable dossier. Each discipline delivers its own piece of the puzzle, resulting in a complete and coherent whole.
"This approach becomes especially important when developing unique or highly customised products." According to Coen Brekelmans.
In those cases, the Baubuch starts from scratch and grows alongside the project. It ensures that new solutions are not only engineered carefully, but also properly documented and ready for approval.
Standards and the road ahead
Regulatory requirements leave little room for interpretation. Without a complete and approved dossier, a product cannot be delivered. No approval means no delivery. That reality makes the Baubuch an essential part of delivering with confidence, both for customers and for inspection authorities. In some markets, such as Germany, these requirements are particularly well-defined and strictly enforced.
At the same time, the process continues to evolve. We are exploring how digital tools can further integrate technical drawings and data directly into the Baubuch. The aim is not to reduce its depth, but to make the process more efficient and consistent, while maintaining the high standards that define how we build.
